After nearly 50 years of sports commentating, one of the great sports announcers of all time, Brent Musburger, is making his final call. Tonight's Georgia vs. Kentucky men's college basketball game in Lexington will be Brent’s final game, as he calls it a career. Brent was the live race host for the Indianapolis 500-mile race from 2005-2012 on ABC. “Brent is an icon in the sports world and we were fortunate to welcome him as host of the Indianapolis 500 ABC broadcast for a number years. It is fitting that someone with his talent was able to be part of some of the greatest moments in our race’s history.” says IMS President Doug Boles. “Both of Dan Wheldon’s wins, all three of Dario Franchitti’s trips to victory lane, the Sam Hornish Jr. last second pass, and Scott Dixon’s win all came during Brent’s time at IMS. We thank him for what he has done for sports in general and to convey to millions of viewers the excitement of the Indianapolis 500 in particular.” View Brent Musburger Indy 500 Photo Gallery ABC has broadcast the Indy 500 since 1965 and is one of the longest-running relationships between a sporting event and television network. Rich Feinberg, the Vice President & Executive Producer for IMS Productions, worked alongside Brent from 2006 – 2012. Rich shares, “Sitting in the control room and hearing those famous words, ‘You are looking live’ over a majestic chopper shot of the Indy 500 was the highlight of my career, and a moment I will always cherish!” Everyone at IMS thanks Brent for his contributions to “The Greatest Spectacle in Racing.”
