Award-winning country music artist Cassadee Pope will sing the national anthem at Sunday’s Crown Royal presents the Combat Wounded Coalition 400 at the Brickyard. Pope, who recently scored a No. 1 hit with the Gold-certified Chris Young duet “Think Of You,” debuted fresh music last month. She penned three of the tracks for her SUMMER EP (Big Machine Label Group), including the title track lead single. The West Palm Beach, Florida, native returned to her home state to film the music video already garnering over 2 million views and dominated the iTunes #1 Country spot upon release. “I’m excited to sing for NASCAR nation before this big race at The Brickyard,” Pope said. “I grew up watching races with my grandfather, and that makes this invitation to the Indianapolis Motor Speedway even more special.” Pope joined Pitbull and Leona Lewis during the 2016 CMT Music Awards in a performance that Rolling Stone said “lived up to its must-see billing.” The moment marked a return to the same stage where Pope was awarded Breakthrough Video of the Year in 2014 for her Platinum-selling breakout hit “Wasting All These Tears.” Earlier this year, Pope was nominated for a 2016 People’s Choice Award for Favorite Female Country Artist. Visit www.cassadeepope.com for tour dates and more. “We love to spotlight talented artists and Cassadee Pope has established herself as one of the greatest singers on the horizon,” said Indianapolis Motor Speedway President J. Douglas Boles. “She’ll be terrific singing our national anthem before what we know will be a great NASCAR Sunday.” The Crown Royal presents the Combat Wounded Coalition 400 at the Brickyard is scheduled for 3 p.m. ET on Sunday.
