Rubens Barrichello, the most experienced driver in Formula One history, will compete in the Brickyard Grand Prix on Friday, July 26 at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway in a GRAND-AM Daytona Prototype fielded by Doran Racing. Barrichello will share the No. 77 3Dimensional.com Ford/Dallara with Doug Peterson on the 13-turn, 2.534-mile Grand Prix road course at IMS. The three-hour Rolex Sports Car Series race starts at 5:30 p.m. (ET). Brazilian Barrichello made 322 career starts in Formula One from 1993-2011, including a stint from 2000-05 for iconic Ferrari. He won 11 Grands Prix during his career. The popular Barrichello moved to the IZOD IndyCar Series for a season in 2012 with KV Racing Technology, earning Indianapolis 500 Chase Rookie of the Year honors after finishing 11th. He is competing this season in the Stock Car Brasil touring car series in his homeland. This will be Barrichello’s second career GRAND-AM start but his first in a Daytona Prototype. He co-drove with fellow Brazilian and former IZOD IndyCar Series teammate Tony Kanaan in the GT class of the 2013 Rolex 24 at Daytona in January. Barrichello becomes the seventh Indianapolis 500 veteran to join the lineup for the Brickyard Grand Prix, joining Kanaan, Sebastien Bourdais, AJ Allmendinger, Max Papis, Christian Fittipaldi and Scott Pruett. And Barrichello joins 2013 Indianapolis 500 winner Kanaan in the pursuit of becoming the first driver to win two major events at IMS. A four-day Kroger Super Weekend general admission ticket is $80, a great value for the ultimate race weekend. A three-day general admission ticket (Thursday-Saturday) is $65. Children ages 12 and under will be admitted free any of the four days of the Super Weekend at the Brickyard when accompanied by an adult with a general admission ticket.
