Hard rock legends Poison will lead an impressive lineup of national, regional and local music acts performing during the 97th Indianapolis 500 in May at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway. Poison will provide a powerful show at the Coors Light Carb Day concert on Friday, May 24 at IMS. The concert, free with Coors Lite Carb Day admission of $20, will start at 3:30 p.m. (ET) on the Coors Light Stage in the IMS infield. Coors Light Carb Day tickets are available now at www.ims.com/carbday. Indianapolis 500 Race Day on Sunday, May 26 will feature performances by world-renowned electronic DJs Afrojack, Diplo and Topher Jones, who will headline the party in the Snake Pit presented by Miller Lite. A two-time Grammy Award winner, Afrojack has become a world icon in electronic dance music, and Diplo is recognized as one of the most dynamic forces in music today. Jones is an Indianapolis native whose music has been played by DJs across a wide variety of musical genres. Located inside Turn 3 in the massive IMS infield, the Snake Pit features world-class DJs and other festivities that will open at 7 a.m. Race Day and will rock IMS until the checkered flag waves. Any fan with a Race Day ticket and free Snake Pit wristband will be admitted. Taking the Pagoda Plaza Stage at 6:15 p.m. Pole Day, Saturday, May 18 will be unique R&B and funk recording artists Here Come The Mummies, who perform in full mummy-attired bandages. Month of May music at IMS will begin on Sunday, May 12 when Kingdom Racing, a Christian race team launched in 2008, presents the Give Me Jesus Tour concert and other fan activities. The concert, which starts at 4 p.m., on the Pagoda Plaza Stage, will feature music from highly regarded Christian groups such as Building 429, the Rhett Walker Band and Finding Favour, along with special guest Carlos Whittaker, a recording artist, worship pastor and popular “Ragamuffin Soul” blogger. An IZOD IndyCar Series race car will be on display during the concert, and Kingdom Racing drivers will be available to answer questions and sign autographs. All musical performances are free with admission to the IMS grounds for the day.
