IMS Date Set For July 28 On 2013 NASCAR Sprint Cup Schedule

The 20th annual Crown Royal presents the “Your Hero’s Name Here” 400 at the Brickyard will take place Sunday, July 28, 2013 at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway, the 20th of 36 events in the 2013 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series.

The prestigious race will take place on the same weekend as 2012, according to a schedule released Sept. 25 by NASCAR.

Danica Patrick also is scheduled to make her IMS Sprint Cup debut in the 2013 Crown Royal presents the “Your Hero’s Name Here” 400 at the Brickyard. She will race full time in Sprint Cup next season for Stewart-Haas Racing.

Sprint Cup also will feature redesigned cars in 2013, with new-look Chevrolet SS, Ford Fusion and Toyota Camry models on track at IMS.

The 2013 season starts with the Daytona 500 on Feb. 24 and finishes with a race Nov. 17 at Homestead-Miami Speedway. The 10-race Chase for the Sprint Cup begins Sept. 15 at Chicagoland Speedway.
