Only two-and-a half weeks remain until the NASCAR Nationwide Series takes to Indianapolis Motor Speedway for the very first time in NASCAR history. A lot of people ask me what my thoughts are about getting the opportunity to race at one of the most historical tracks in the country and all I can say is, blessed.
I'm currently spending some time in my hometown Pensacola, FL during my off week before the ML Motorsports team gets back to racing action at Chicagoland Speedway next Sunday. I moved to North Carolina about a year ago to further pursue my dreams of becoming a professional race car driver, so it's always nice to come back home and visit all my family and friends. So far, I have spent some time at the beach with my close friends and of course, jet skis and boat riding were in the equation. I also got to pull out one of my most prized possessions, my dirt bike.
My parents don't approve of my desperate need to play on my dirt bike, but its a must when I come back home. I always said that if I didn't race stock cars, dirt bikes would be second on my dream list. Its a blast! Moreover, I have enjoyed spending my downtime with my family, but I'm eager to get back in the seat next weekend at Chicagoland Speedway and then at Indianapolis Motor Speedway the next weekend. I have one prior start at Chicagoland and of course, this will be my first start at IMS, so I have a lot of studying to do these next couple weeks before I hit the track.
The ML Motorsports team as a whole couldn't be more excited about the Indy 250. Its definitely going to be a special race for the hometown team and fans. Not only is it a big week for us on the track, but we have a lot of great stuff planned for the week leading up to the big race. Mary-Louise Miller (team owner) and ML Motorsports is honored to have our partners, Keen Parts and Wish for Our Heroes join us for the 100-lap event. I can't wait to have them with us at the track and I couldn't be happier to represent them at this race.
I hope you all are getting as excited as the ML Motorsports team is about one of the most anticipated races of the season. Its going to be a great event for sure. Thanks for reading my blog and for your continued support!
