A Conversation With ... Nico Terol, Maverick Vinales, Sandro Cortese

Q: In the Red Bull Indianapolis Grand Prix, 125cc class and in third place Sandro Cortese, second place Maverick Vinales, and our race winner today is championship leader Nico Terol. He extends his championship lead back out to 26 points with Johann Zarco finishing in fifth place today in the race.
Nico, we'll start with you, of course. 26 points, after Brno it was only 12. How important has it been to win this race today after the disaster at Brno?

NICO TEROL: Yes, I am very happy for this victory after Brno. This victory is motivation for finishing the championship. This weekend my team and this track I like a lot. For the race, my idea for my pace in practice, with the start I push very hard in the first laps. And after I look at the tires because in this track every rider have many problems in the tire, and this victory is incredible in this moment of championship. I want to thank my team because their work for the weekend is perfect.

Q: Well done, Nico. Congratulations on the 25 points and the win today.
Second place yet another podium in the fantastic rookie season for Maverick Vinales. Maverick, conditions have been difficult all weekend on track. How difficult was it racing today and battling for Sandro, for example?

MAVERICK VINALES: The battling was fun, you know. But the tire was difficult because I work with C on the practice and in the race we put F, and I go step by step and I go fast. And I go fast in the last part and not in the first part.

Q: Anyway, congratulations on another podium, Maverick, another second place for you.
Sandro, after the win at Brno, to get back on the podium is a great result. How much did you enjoy battling with the youngster?

SANDRO CORTESE: Yeah, it was quite hard at the beginning of the race because I put like a very hard tire on the front, and I knew I lose quite a lot at the beginning because like Nico and Maverick use the more soft one so they could push from the beginning. I just tried to not lose too much at the beginning and have a better rhythm at the end. With Maverick, it was just like I could be second or third, it was like with the slipstream, and he was also very fast in the last lap. I am quite happy to be back. Like after the victory, it was very important to show myself and everyone else that I know that I will be able to fight for, not for the victory today but, for sure, for the podium.

Q: Well done on that third place today, Sandro. Do we have any questions at all from anyone?
No? OK. We'll let you speak straight to the riders. Well done to all three of you.
