Fans Can Drive, Ride Indy Car At IMS Through Indy Racing Experience

Indy Racing Experience

The Indy Racing Experience has announced its 2010 schedule for the Indianapolis Motor Speedway, with nine dates scheduled for the historic Brickyard, including four days during the Month of May. This year's schedule will begin Thursday, May 6 and end Saturday, Sept. 18 - one of three consecutive weekend dates that will conclude the 2010 schedule.

During each of the 2010 dates at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway, the Indy Racing Experience will offer the opportunity to ride, drive, or participate in the Ultimate Indy Racing Experience promotion, which was unveiled late last year. The Ultimate Indy Racing Experience allows the customer to first drive three laps around the famed 2.5-mile oval and then sit back and enjoy a high-speed, two-seater ride that averages 180 mph.

The Indy Racing Experience ride and drive programs at Indianapolis will each cost $499 for the 2010 season, while the Ultimate Indy Racing Experience is $599.

"We are thrilled once again to provide race fans and thrill seekers the opportunity to go where only a few of the bravest have ever been, around the Indianapolis Motor Speedway," said Indy Racing Experience co-owner Scott Jasek. "We strive to provide the best experience possible for our customers, which is why we felt it important to re-think how we will operate at the IMS this season. Now, regardless of the date, people have the chance to do the ride, drive or both experiences at the world's most historic track."

In past years, the Indy Racing Experience had set aside "ride only" or "drive only" dates at Indianapolis. For the 2010 season, race fans will have the opportunity to "ride only" at 9 a.m., do the Ultimate Indy Racing Experience between 10 a.m.-3 p.m. or "drive only" from 3-5 p.m.

This year's nine dates at Indianapolis:  May 6, May 10, May 12, May 24, July 8, July 9, July 10, Sept. 11 and Sept. 18.

In addition to the dates at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway, the Indy Racing Experience is open daily at the Walt Disney World® Speedway. Having expanded to Orlando in November 2008, the Indy Racing Experience has been offering race fans the opportunity to both ride and drive in an IZOD IndyCar Series machine year-round at the 1-mile tri-oval located just outside the Magic Kingdom® Park at the Walt Disney World® Resort. Thrill seekers can get behind the wheel and drive eight laps for $399 plus tax or take a three-lap ride in a purpose-built two-seater for just $109 plus tax.

Reservations for both the Indianapolis Motor Speedway and the Walt Disney World® Speedway are being taken online at www.IndyRacingExperience.com or by contacting Shonda Kennedy at (888) 357-5002 or skennedy@indyracingexperience.com.

Founded in 2001, the Indy Racing Experience provides fans the ultimate opportunity of a lifetime by experiencing the high speeds of Indy-car racing with our drive and ride programs.  Fans can drive these Indy-car machines, which competed in the Indianapolis 500, or take a ride in a two-seater driven by an Indy Racing League driver around the historic Indianapolis Motor Speedway, the Walt Disney World® Speedway or any of the tracks on the IZOD IndyCar Series schedule. The Indy Racing Experience has given more than 15,000 rides to celebrities, media, race fans and thrill seekers over the past nine years.
