Electro Sensations Benny Benassi, Krewella To Perform At 96th Indianapolis 500
There are even more reasons to party in the Snake Pit during the 96th Indianapolis 500 on Sunday, May 27, as world-renowned electro DJ and producer Benny Benassi will perform at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway.
Chicago-based electro group Krewella also will perform in the Snake Pit, located inside Turn 3 in the massive IMS infield.
The Snake Pit will be open on Race Day from 7 a.m. until the checkered flag ending the race. Any fan with a Race Day ticket and free Snake Pit wristband will be admitted. Music starts at 8 a.m.
Wristbands can be obtained three ways: www.indianapolismotorspeedway.com/snakepit, on the Snake Pit Tour around Indiana or through the Miller Lite scratch-off sweepstakes. Check www.indianapolismotorspeedway.com/snakepit for more details.
Besides the live concerts, activities in the Snake Pit will include bumper cars, corn hole, a photo booth, body painting, food trucks, concert ticket giveaways through Live Nation, hula hoops, beer pong, breakdancers, go-go dancers and more. The VIP section will include private bathrooms, a cash bar, flat-screen televisions and more.
Benassi, from Italy, rose to worldwide fame with the 2002 release of his enormous chart-topping hit single “Satisfaction.” With that tune, he initiated a new genre of music dubbed as electro, which earned him the crown “Godfather of Electro.”
The demand for Benassi as a DJ is incredible, and he headlines major festivals and venues around the world, including performances at the Coachella and Electric Daisy Carnival festivals and major North American clubs, including Pacha in New York and Government in Toronto.
Benassi’s previous album releases include 2003’s “Hypnotica” (featuring “No Matter What You Do” and “Love is Gonna Save Us”) as Benny Benassi presents The Biz, 2004’s “Pumphonia” (whose singles “Illusion” and “Hit My Heart” became massive European hits), 2005’s “…Phobia as the Benassi Brothers” and 2008’s “Rock N Rave” (featuring Iggy Pop, Black Box, and Mia J). Benassi’s latest album, “Electroman,” was released in 2011 on Ultra Records and includes the hits “Cinema” and “Beautiful People.” With his cousin Alle Benassi, Benny Benassi produced three songs on the new Madonna album, “MDNA,” including the current single “Girls Gone Wild.”
Krewella is an electro trio from Chicago consisting of sisters Jahan and Yasmine Yousaf as well as Kris “Rain Man” Trindl. Their viral releases continue to take the world by storm. Seamlessly merging infectious pop-infused melodies with growling modulated bass, the Krew has consistently shown that they are unafraid to defy norms in EDM music.
Jagermeister, Miller Lite, Radio Now 100.9 and NUVO are partners with IMS in presenting the Snake Pit.
