IMS Nightlife

The Indianapolis Motor Speedway and the surrounding areas during the Indianapolis 500 turn into a Mardi Gras-like atmosphere during the entire race weekend. With Miller Lite Carb Day on Friday, the Public Drivers' Meeting, IPL 500 Festival Parade and, of course, the night before the "500" revelry on 16th and Georgetown, its easy to make your Indy 500 party last all weekend long. Here are a few tips to make your trip the best:

First. Be sure to get your camping pass and race tickets.  If you aren't the camping type, be sure to get your hotel rooms well in advance of the race weekend.

If you are staying for the weekend and want to party near the track, here is a quick rundown of the various spots around the Indianapolis Motor Speedway.

 

Red Zone

Lot 1A

  • Located on Georgetown Road, between Gate 9 and Gate 9A
  • RV and Tent Camping
  • Shower facilities

Lot 1B

  • Located on Georgetown Road, south of 30th Street
  • Daily Parking only, no overnight parking or camping is permitted

Lot 1C (Coke Lot)

  • Located on the north end of Georgetown Road
  • Quick access to Gate 9
  • RV and Tent Camping
  • Suggested 21 and over

Lot 4

  • Premium RV Camping
  • 30A and 50A Electric Upgrade Available

Lot 4A

  • Premium RV Camping
  • 30A and 50A Electric Upgrade Available

Lot 7 (North 40)

  • Limited free daily parking, no overnight parking or camping is permitted

 

Green Zone

Lot 2

  • Located on Georgetown Road across from Gate 6
  • RV, Tent Camping, and Daily Parking
  • Shower facilities

Lot 6

  • RV Camping
  • 30A and 50A Electric Upgrade Available

Lot 8

  • Located on Georgetown Road, north from Gate 7
  • Daily parking only, no overnight parking or camping is permitted

Lot 9

  • Daily parking only, no overnight parking or camping is permitted

Lot 10

  • Daily parking only, no overnight parking or camping is permitted

 

Yellow Zone

Turn 3 (Infield)

  • Limited free parking (first-come, first-serve)
  • No overnight parking or camping is permitted
  • No public motor home or RV parking
  • Quick access to the Snake Pit!

 

Orange Zone

Lot 3 Grass

  • RV, Tent Camping, and Daily Parking
  • Family oriented atmosphere

Lot 3 Pavement

  • RV Camping
  • 30A and 50A Electric Upgrade Available

Main Gate

  • Located on 16th Street, both east and west of Polco Street
  • Daily parking, no overnight parking or camping is permitted
