Great New Items Added To IMS Auctions To Benefit Haiti Relief
Exciting new items continue to be added to the Indianapolis Motor Speedway eBay auctions to benefit American Red Cross relief efforts in Haiti, as the motorsports world shows its care and concern for the victims of the devastating earthquake Jan. 12. IMS Contributing $10,000 To Red Cross Relief Efforts In Haiti
The Indianapolis Motor Speedway is contributing $10,000 to the American Red Cross to assist its relief efforts for Haitian earthquake victims. Motorsports fans also can contribute to the American Red Cross in many ways, including a continuing online auction at the IMS eBay site and a Brickyard Authentics retail store price reduction. Among the new items added to the auction is a VIP ticket package to the 2010 Indianapolis 500.

American Motorsports Media Name Franchitti Driver Of The Year
Dario Franchitti received more recognition for his 2009 IZOD IndyCar Series championship Jan. 16 by being named the recipient of the Jerry Titus Award during the American Auto Racing Writers and Broadcasters Association's All-America Team dinner in Brownsburg, Ind. The Titus award, given in remembrance of the late racer/journalist, signifies the top vote-getter among All-America Team members as the driver of the year. Franchitti also won the award following his 2007 series championship and Indianapolis 500 victory.

IMS Teaming With American Red Cross For Haitian Earthquake Relief
The Indianapolis Motor Speedway is teaming with the American Red Cross through an online auction and Brickyard Authentics retail store price reduction to encourage race fans to contribute to relief efforts for Haitian earthquake victims. Autographed items are being auctioned on eBay, and anyone who donates $5 or more to the Red Cross at the two Brickyard Authentics retail outlets will receive a 20 percent savings on their purchase.

Ten Fans Meet Helio Through IMS Contest On Facebook, Twitter
It's only fitting that one of the most social Indianapolis 500 winners in recent memory greeted winners of a trivia contest staged by the Indianapolis Motor Speedway exclusively on popular social networks Facebook and Twitter. Ten Indianapolis 500 fans enjoyed special access Jan. 12 to three-time Indianapolis 500 winner Helio Castroneves by answering selected trivia questions about Castroneves in a contest Jan. 8 on Facebook and Twitter.

Chevrolet Camaro SS To Pace 2010 Indianapolis 500 Mile Race
Officials from Chevrolet and the Indianapolis Motor Speedway unveiled the 2010 Chevrolet Camaro SS Indianapolis 500 Pace Car at the Speedway's Hall of Fame Museum Dec. 18. The 2010 Chevy Camaro Indianapolis 500 Pace Car is a 21st century sports car that looks to the future with a nod to the heritage of both the car and the race. The first year for Camaro to pace the Indianapolis 500 was in 1967, the year the Camaro made its debut.

Free Admission, Tour Dec. 23 At IMS Museum For '12 Days' Promotion
The Indianapolis Motor Speedway Hall of Fame Museum is offering free admission to the Museum and the narrated track tour on Wednesday, Dec. 23 as part of the "12 Free Days of Indy Christmas." For the fourth consecutive year, IMS is participating in the Indianapolis Convention & Visitors Association's popular program that offers the public free admission for one day to many of Indianapolis' top tourist attractions.

Winter Named IMS Chief Information Officer
Rhonda Winter was named as chief information officer of the Indianapolis Motor Speedway, a new position that will guide the direction of all information technology and related business units of the company. Experienced information technology executive Winter will oversee the existing Information Technology department and the newly created New Media & Consumer Strategies department.

IMS, IMIS Team Up For Prestigious Safety Conference Dec. 1 In Indy
Officials from the International Motorsports Industry Show (IMIS) announced Nov. 9 that the Indianapolis Motor Speedway will serve as a partner in the inaugural IMIS Safety Conference Dec. 1 in the Sagamore Ballroom of the Indiana Convention Center in downtown Indianapolis. The IMIS Safety Conference presented by the Indianapolis Motor Speedway will help kick off the inaugural IMIS show, set for Dec. 2-3, also at the Indiana Convention Center.

IZOD Named Title Sponsor Of IndyCar Series
Phillips-Van Heusen Corporation (NYSE: PVH) announced Thursday, Nov. 5 a multi-year agreement in principle with the Indy Racing League (IRL), the sanctioning body for the IndyCar Series, for its IZOD brand to become the title sponsor of the newly renamed IZOD IndyCar Series. The IZOD IndyCar Series introduced its new logo and key partnership details today, with additional activation, promotional plans and marketing initiatives to be revealed in the coming months, prior to the start of the 2010 season.
