IMS Announces Celebration Of Automobiles Award Winners

The 2013 Celebration of Automobiles featured many of the world’s finest classic/vintage automobiles on display Saturday at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway, with a 1929 Duesenberg, 1957 Bentley, 1936 Delahaye and 1930 Stutz earning coveted Best of Show designation in four separate categories.

Now in its third year after a highly successful debut in 2011 held in conjunction with the 100th Anniversary Indianapolis 500, the Celebration of Automobiles pays tribute to the rich heritage of automotive development at the track for more than 100 years.
Other Celebration of Automobiles Award winners:

Best of Show Pre-War:  1929 Duesenberg J Dual Cowl Sport Phaeton -  Charles Lettes – Bloomfield Hills, Mich.

Best of Show Post-War:  1957 Bentley S1 Continental Coupe – Roger Eiteljorg – Indianapolis, Ind.

Best of Show Foreign:  1936 Delahaye 135 Competition Figoni – Roger Willbanks – Denver, Colo.

Best of Show American:  1930 Stutz SV 16 Monte Carlo – Joseph and Margie Cassini – West Orange, N.J.

Indianapolis 500 Drivers Choice Award: 1937 Delahaye 145 – Peter Mullin – Oxnard, Calif.

Best Full Classic Presented by the Indiana Region of the Classic Car Club of America:  1930 Stutz SV 16 Monte Carlo – Joseph and Margie Cassini – West Orange, N.J.

Best Indiana Built Car Presented by the Auto Clubs Council of Indiana:  1931 Marmon V16 Convertible Coupe – Greg Dawson – Indianapolis, Ind.

Media’s Choice Award:  1968 Bizzarrini 5300 SI Spyder – Don and Diane Meluzio – Yorktown, Pa.

People’s Choice Award:  1948 Chrysler Town and Country Convertible – Greg Ornazian – Troy, Mich.

Vintage Motorsport Trophy:  1932 Hupmobile Hup Comet Indy Race Car – Greg Ornazian – Troy, Mich.

Best Chevrolet Award:  1958 Chevrolet Corvette Roadster Convertible – Albert Cavallaro – Westlake, Ohio

The Mayor’s Choice Award: 1958 Chevrolet Corvette Roadster Convertible – Albert Cavallaro – Westlake, Ohio
