Get Ready To Party On 'Main Street' At Red Bull Indianapolis GP

The fourth annual Red Bull Indianapolis GP will feature the best motorcycle racers in the world competing Aug. 26-28 at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway.

But the event also will boast the best party of the year in Indianapolis for everyone interested in the two-wheeled lifestyle and a great time.

The new “Main Street” running through the IMS infield is the epicenter of the expanded lineup of party and social attractions for fans during the Red Bull Indianapolis GP.

For the first time, motorcyclists can park their bikes in the center of the action on Main Street in the IMS infield, creating the social scene that is a vital part of every rider’s lifestyle. A variety of fun, action-packed activities, including music, motorcycle competition and fashion, will be located along Main Street.

Public gates will remain open until 10 p.m. Friday, Aug. 26 and Saturday, Aug. 27 at IMS to create one of the coolest parties of the year, energized by the style and attitude of Red Bull.

General admission tickets are just $10 Friday and $20 Saturday. The expanded schedule will create even better value for fans, with more than 12 hours of action and excitement on and off track each day at IMS.

“More motorcycle enthusiasts are coming to Indianapolis every year to enjoy the action at the track and at various downtown activities surrounding the Red Bull Indianapolis GP,” said Jeff Belskus, Indianapolis Motor Speedway Corporation president and chief executive officer. “This new schedule Friday and Saturday at IMS will give fans and those looking for a great time even more options during race weekend and create an incredibly dynamic day – and evening – at the track, especially on ‘Main Street.’”

New evening events will take place in IMS infield areas targeted to all motorcycle enthusiasts – whether they enjoy sportbikes, V-Twins or drag bikes – and to anyone looking for non-stop excitement.

Daytime action will continue to focus on the intense on-track competition of the MotoGP World Championship at IMS. Superstars such as Valentino Rossi, Jorge Lorenzo, Nicky Hayden, Ben Spies and Colin Edwards will race handlebar-to-handlebar at 200 mph and skim just inches above the asphalt on the 16-turn road course. The Moto2 and 125cc classes also will showcase some of the world’s best young riders, including American Kenny Noyes.

Fans also will see more of their MotoGP heroes on track this year at IMS. There will be three 45-minute practice sessions and a one-hour qualifying session over the first two days of the event.

Popular existing attractions also will return throughout the race weekend, such as Ducati Island, Cycle World seminars, Riders For Health auctions, Ride For Kids charity laps, Vendor Marketplace, Manufacturers Display Area and the Pit Walkabout.

Three feature races for the World Championship classes will be the highlight of the Race Day schedule Sunday, Aug. 28. Giveaways featuring exciting big prizes also are planned that day.
