Fans Can Ask Questions To Indy Legends Mears, Johnson On June 10
Wednesday, June 09, 2010
Race fans have a unique opportunity to ask questions to two Indianapolis Motor Speedway legends – Rick Mears and Jimmie Johnson – during a live video chat Thursday, June 10 from IMS.
Four-time Indianapolis 500 winner Mears and three-time Brickyard 400 winner Johnson will answer fan questions together from 4:45-5:15 p.m. (ET). Fans are encouraged to submit questions in advance at the IMS Twitter feed, @IndyTalk or www.twitter.com/IndyTalk.
The live video of the chat can be viewed by clicking here.
Johnson has cited fellow Californian Mears as one of his racing idols, as both started their auto racing careers in off-road racing before moving to asphalt. Johnson will attempt to join Mears as a four-time winner at IMS on July 25 in the Brickyard 400, which he won in 2006, 2008 and 2009.
IMS tickets: Established in 1909, the Indianapolis Motor Speedway has long prevailed as an icon of motorsports excellence. In 2009, the Speedway began the three-year celebration of its Centennial Era, commemorating the 100th anniversary of the facility in 2009 and the 100th anniversary of the Indianapolis 500 Mile Race in 2011.
Tickets for the Brickyard 400 on July 23-25 and the Red Bull Indianapolis GP on Aug. 27-29 can be purchased online at www.imstix.com at any time. Tickets for groups of 20 or more also are on sale. Contact the IMS Group Sales Department at (866) 221-8775 for more information.
